The Wolverhampton Wanderers ace has not recovered in time to feature for the Molineux side’s next European game.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to bemoan the news that Diogo Jota is unavailable for tonight’s Europa League trip to Besiktas (official Wolves website).
The Portuguese ace picked up a toe injury before the Premier League draw at Crystal Palace, missing Saturday’s win over Watford.
Speaking at a press conference, Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed that his forward has not travelled with the rest of the squad to Turkey.
With regards to a potential return, the Molineux manager said he will “wait and see” if Jota will be available for the game against Manchester City on Sunday.
The news comes as a big blow for Wolves, who began their Europa League campaign with defeat against Braga and will be eager to pick up points away at a tough opponent.
Here is some of the reaction from the Molineux fanbase on social media ahead of their first ever meeting with Besiktas:
Wolves are seeking their first victory in the main stage of a European competition since 1980 as they prepare to face a side bottom of Group K after a 4-2 defeat by Slovan Bratislava in their opening game.
