Wolverhampton Wanderers ran out 2-0 winners over Crusaders in the Europa League second qualifying round first leg at Molineux.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Diogo Jota’s performance in Thursday night’s Europa League second qualifying round first leg against Crusaders at Molineux.
Wolves ran out 2-0 winners over the Northern Irish side as the 22-year-old Portugal international opened the scoring on 37 minutes with a ferocious half-volley beyond the reach of opposition goalkeeper Sean O’Neill, the impressive Adama Traore with the delivery.
The hosts, taking part in their first European game in almost 40 years, enjoyed 80 percent of possession and weighed in with a gargantuan 30 shots, 10 of which were on target, but to their credit, Crusaders dug deep and, going into injury time, were still just one goal behind.
Just as it seemed as though Wolves would be forced to take a slender one-goal lead to Belfast, Ruben Vinagre tapped into the empty net after a Joao Moutinho inswinger was fumbled by O’Neill in the third minute of injury time for a slightly more comfortable cushion.
Jota, who was given a 7 out of 10 by the Birmingham Mail for his display, was praised by a number of the Old Gold faithful on social media:
The return leg takes place in Belfast next Thursday before Wolves’ Premier League campaign gets under way on 11 August with a trip to Leicester City.
