Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Rui Patricio during the summer.

Wolves fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after reports from Gianluca Di Marzio suggested that the Championship title winners were keen to sign Rui Patricio during the summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have wasted little time in making plans for life in the Premier League. Wolves won the second tier with relative ease, and captured the imagination with some stunning football along the way.

Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo looks on during the pre-season friendly match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City at Molineux on July 29, 2017 in Wolverhampton, England.

Having been one of the few teams to deny Manchester City winning in 90 minutes this term also, Nuno’s side appears to be not that far away from being ready to take on the country’s best sides on a weekly basis. But it is unsurprising that they are looking to make substantial additions during the coming months.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Rui Patricio is on their radar, but Wolves will have to see off competition from Napoli for his signature and Sporting are unwilling to sell the 30-year-old for anything less than £30.6 million.

The asking price and the competition for his signature would probably leave most fans believing that a deal is simply pie in the sky thinking. But with Wolves landing players such as Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota in the past, it is unsurprising that a number of supporters are not accepting defeat by any means.

Goalkeeper appears to be one area that Wolves need to strengthen during the summer, and several of the supporters on social media suggested that the Euro 2016 winner would be a superb target to bring to Molineux during the summer.
