Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Valencia youngster Rafa Mir.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are top of the Championship table and they are looking to further bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
According to Spanish newspaper Super Deporte, Wolves are close to signing Valencia forward Rafa Mir, who has rejected the chance to join Real Madrid in order to move to the Championship club.

The 20-year-old is a highly exciting forward, and he has featured regularly for the Valencia B team. He has scored 25 goals in 60 games for the Valencia B team, and has made two first team appearances for Los Che.
The report claims that the youngster now wants to play for the Championship side. Real Madrid wanted to sign him and develop the player gradually by putting him in their Castilla side, but the opportunity of playing regularly in England proved to be a more tempting option for him.

Wolves will be paying €2million (£1.75million) to sign Mir, and will hand him a four-year contract to reunite with manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
The news has been greeted with joy among the Wolves fans. They have taken to social networking site Twitter to express their reaction.
