Wolves were beaten 3-1 at Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

Wolverhampton Wanderers couldn’t respond to their FA Cup semi-final disappointment as they lost 3-1 at Southampton on Saturday – which dents their hopes of a seventh-placed finish.
Wolves were left heartbroken at Wembley last weekend, squandering a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Watford, and fans made another long trip south on Saturday to take on Southampton.
Nuno’s side got off to the worst possible start though, as Nathan Redmond nipped across the front post to score a very early opener, before Willy Boly equalised for Wolves.
Redmond dinked Southampton back in front after a fine Danny Ings pass, and Shane Long wrapped up all three points for the Saints in the second half.
Wolves’ hopes of Europa League football have taken a dent with that defeat, and a host of players have been criticised for their part in a disappointing loss.
Captain Conor Coady is usually Mr. Reliable in the Wolves defence, but he wasn’t at his best on Saturday, struggling throughout whilst noticeable playing Redmond onside for the second goal.

Fans have raved about Coady for much of the season, but criticised his display yesterday, feeling that he was ‘all over the place’ and to blame for the second goal.
Others don’t think that Coady is a centre back and should be in midfield, noting that his defensive work really isn’t up to scratch and he’s costing Wolves at the moment.
