The Wolves boss accepted an FA charge of improper conduct after running on the pitch against Leicester. Some fans are still unhappy though.
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been handed a £8,000 fine after he admitted a Football Association charge of improper conduct and admitted the standard charge.
The charge relates to Nuno’s behaviour in the 93rd minute of the Premier League game against Leicester City on January 19, when he took to the pitch to celebrate Diogo Jota’s winner in their 4-3 triumph over the 2015-16 champions.
Fans in the Molineux stands bore witness to an enthralling and topsy-turvy encounter, in which Wolves scored twice inside the opening 15 minutes through Jota and Ryan Bennett, before the Foxes struck back through Demarai Gray and a Conor Coady own goal.
Jota then grabbed his second, only for Leicester captain Wes Morgan to with three minutes left, but in the third minute of injury time, the 22-year-old Portuguese got on the end of Raul Jimenez’s delivery to seal his hat-trick and prompt wild celebrations.
Nuno took to the pitch in celebration and was dismissed by referee Chris Kavanagh, who incidentally did not send Jurgen Klopp off after the latter invaded the pitch to celebrate Liverpool‘s late winner against Everton in November, although both coaches have been fined for their actions.
