Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Preston North End 3-2 at Molineux on Saturday to remain at the top of the Championship.
Wolves fans may have been given a slight scare during their clash with Preston North End on Saturday, but that did not stop them taking to Twitter after the game to heap praise upon one summer signing whose inspired form continues.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men went into their clash with Preston off the back of two impressive wins where they had scored six goals and conceded none, but they would have known that they may be in for a tough afternoon at Molineux with the Lilywhites also doing well and boasting one of the best defensive records in the Championship.
But Wolves seemed to wrap up the three points shortly after the hour mark, with Ivan Cavaleiro breaking the deadlock before Leo Bonatini added a quickfire brace for the home side.
Though Preston would score twice late on to set up a tense finish, Wolves managed to hold on to remain at the top of the table.
Following the game, the supporters took to social media to heap praise upon Bonatini, who has been truly sensational since arriving at the club in the summer.
The two goals took his league tally for the season to seven and meant that he had scored four in his last three for Nuno’s men – leaving fans praying that the club manage to make his move to Wolves a permanent one at some stage.
