Joe Mason disappointed as Wolves dropped points at home.

Wolves dropped points at home to Ipswich Town last night, drawing 1-1, missing out on the chance to record back to back Championship wins.
With new boss Walter Zenga experimenting in his team selection once again, Joe Mason led the line up front with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson in support, but the former Cardiff City man did not enjoy one of his better nights, despite scoring at the weekend.
Mason created two chances, but was disappointing in other areas, failing to attempt a shot at goal or win a single header.

With just 23 touches in 90 minutes, Mason was a peripheral figure, and his performance could have given new owner Jeff Shi of Fosun International food for thought, as he plots to bring in new signings to the Championship club.

Wolves have been active in the transfer market and attempted to sign Derby County’ Chris Martin last week, and are likely to target another striker before the transfer deadline at the end of the month.
Mason’s display will have done little to persuade them otherwise, although it is questionable whether a new face will be added in time for the weekend’s fixture away to Birmingham City.
