Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on Stoke City’s Joe Allen.

Wolverhampton Wanderers couldn’t break the 100 point mark on Saturday afternoon as they could only draw 0-0 with Sheffield Wednesday, but the Premier League beckons for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.

Wolves have already been crowned champions of the Championship, and that means that the club will be pursuing reinforcements ahead of their return to the top flight.

Super agent Jorge Mendes’ strong links with the club enabled them to make stunning signings such as Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota, and links to huge names have already emerged as alleged targets off the back of Mendes’ influence.

However, mixed in with those continental signings have been domestic performers such as John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett and Barry Douglas, and new links suggest a Premier League ace could be a Wolves target.

The Sun report that Wolves want Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen if the Potters suffer relegation, with a £20milion bid touted from the Molineux side.

Welsh international Allen, 28, was a star for Stoke last season following his move from Liverpool, hitting six goals and two assists, whilst this term he has notched two goals and six assists for the struggling Potters.

Wolves fans have taken to Twitter to react to the rumours, suggesting that Allen isn’t good enough and isn’t worth £20million, with Mendes surely able to bring better players to Molineux this summer, even if some believe he could be a decent signing given his Premier League experience.
