Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has spoken about striker Tammy Abraham amid reported interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves supporters on Twitter believe Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham will leave the club in January following Dean Smith’s comments.
Ahead of Villa’s FA Cup clash against Swansea City on Saturday, Smith admitted to Sky Sports that Chelsea loanee Abraham will make the final decision on whether he stays or leaves the club in January.
The Telegraph claim that Abraham’s parent club, Chelsea have until January 14 to decide on his future as Wolves are interested in his services.
Wolves reported interest in the 21-year-old striker has opened up the debate as to whether he will still be at Villa Park come the end of January.
Smith’s side, who are currently sitting outside of the play-off places in the Championship, are hoping to earn promotion to the Premier League at the third time of asking.
During this campaign, the Midlands outfit have struggled to keep clean sheets, but they have scored plenty of goals with Abraham being their star performer in the attacking third.
The Stamford Bridge player has scored 16 goals this season from his 20 league matches, including a brace against QPR last time out.
Following Smith’s comments, one Wolves supporter stated that the Villa man has the tone of someone who is ‘resigned to the player leaving’.
Smith urged Abraham to stay at the club and become a ‘club legend’ comments which were seen in a funny tone by the Wolves faithful.
