Wolverhampton Wanderers booked their place in the next round with a narrow victory over Yeovil Town at Molineux.

Wolves fans have been reacting on Twitter to David Edwards’ performance in their Carabao Cup win over Yeovil at Molineux, and it is safe to say that the supporters were not impressed by the 31-year-old’s display.

The Championship side booked their place in the second round of the competition as a goal from Nouha Dicko 14 minutes from time settled a tight game.

Nuno Espirito Santo made nine changes to the team that picked up a much more encouraging 1-0 win at the weekend – as they kicked off their Championship campaign by picking up three points against Middlesbrough – and one of those changes saw Edwards come into the midfield.

The 31-year-old – who is starting his 11th season on Wolves’ books – featured for 69 minutes before being replaced by Diogo Jota, but did little to impress the supporters and struggled to hide his frustration when he was replaced.

The supporters who took to social media to discuss the performance appeared to be less than sympathetic towards the Wales international.

The general reaction appears to be that Edwards is simply not deserving of a spot in the starting lineup, and his cause was certainly not done any favours by the fact that Dicko’s winner came after he had been brought off.
