After Edwards’ Shrewsbury beat Stoke in their FA Cup third-round replay, some Wolves fans looked ahead to reacquainting themselves with the club legend.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have discovered who their opponents in the fourth round of the FA Cup will be following Tuesday night’s third-round replay between Shrewsbury Town and Stoke City.
The Potters were dominant in the first half of the game at the Bet365 Stadium and turned their chances into goals as Tyrese Campbell scored twice against the Shrews for a 2-0 half-time lead.
However, Nathan Jones’ side collapsed in the latter stages of the second half as the visitors scored three times in 10 minutes to overturn their deficit and claim a shock victory over the Championship side.
James Bolton’s 20-yard strike, Fejiri Okenabirhie’s penalty and Josh Laurent’s 81st-minute effort completed the turnaround for the League One strugglers, who will now host Wolves at the New Meadow.
The fixture – set to be played on the weekend of January 26 – is highly anticipated by the Molineux contingent as Shrewsbury is where Wolves legend David Edwards now plays, the Welshman having made 307 appearances in nine-and-a-half years in the Old Gold (Transfermarkt).

Wolves themselves acknowledged their former stalwart and captain with a picture on their Twitter account and some Wanderers fans voiced their thoughts on the upcoming “Dave Edwards Derby”:
