Wolves fans react on Twitter to controversial Bournemouth draw

Wolves were held to a 1-1 Premier League draw at the Vitality Stadium amid several contentious Roger East refereeing decisions.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have claimed a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s Premier League fixture away at Bournemouth but the game was marred by several contentious refereeing decisions which many Wolves fans are not happy about.

Cherries striker Joshua King opened the scoring with a 14th-minute penalty after he went to ground under Joao Moutinho’s challenge, though replays seemed to suggest he went down easily under little contact in the box.

Wolves then had a shout for a penalty of their own after the ball appeared to hit Chris Mepham’s arm as the defender messed up trying to clear the ball for a corner, but referee Roger East did not point to the spot.

Later on, East showed Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma only a yellow card for an elbow into the face of Joao Moutinho, leaving him bloodied, though he did award Wolves a penalty when Adam Smith was judged to have brought down Matt Doherty and Raul Jimenez converted the equaliser.

There was yet another contentious decision coming when a foul outside the box on Ryan Fraser yielded another penalty, but King’s effort was tipped round the post by Wanderers goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
