Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently looking for the Italian’s successor.
Former Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman
Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to express their worry about former striker Dougie Freedman becoming the new favourite with bookmaker SkyBet to succeed Walter Zenga.
Zenga was dismissed in the wake of the club’s defeat to Leeds United at the weekend which left them 18th in the Championship and without a win in any of their last five games.

And while the appearance of names such as Sam Allardyce, Marco Silva and Nigel Pearson amongst the contenders (via SkyBet) would have given Wolves fans hope that the board were about to make a promising appointment, it is the name currently situated as the 5/4 favourite that has got supporters talking.
While Freedman enjoyed a decent spell at Molineux as a player nearly two decades ago – he scored 10 times in 29 league games but was largely overshadowed by the emergence of Robbie Keane – his managerial career has been largely disappointing.

After enjoying an impressive spell at Crystal Palace, Freedman made the decision to leave Selhurst Park for Bolton Wanderers, despite the Trotters being 12 places lower in the Championship than the Eagles.
Unfortunately, he failed to take Bolton or subsequently Nottingham Forest to the same heights he had taken Palace, and has been out of work since leaving the City Ground in March.

And while Freedman may point to circumstances out of his control as reasons why things did not work out in either of his two most recent tenures, Wolves fans are nonetheless concerned about his name being included in the mix.
