Wolves fans are unsurprisingly not in the best mood following Tuesday’s agonising defeat to Wigan Athletic, but one player is definitely giving them reason to be slightly more optimistic.
Paul Lambert’s men remain 18th in the Championship table, and while the gap between themselves and the bottom three did not close following the latest round of games, the 1-0 loss was definitely a significant blow for Wolves.
Wigan – who scored an 88th minute winner at Molineux through Jake Buxton – moved level on points with Blackburn to ensure that two sides in the bottom three are now within six points of Lambert’s men.
And, of course, based on their respective positions in the table, Lambert would have earmarked a home clash with the Latics as one of their best opportunities remaining to secure an important three points.

So while there seems to be plenty to be bleak about currently, Wolves fans have been taking to social media to heap praise upon Connor Ronan after yet another encouraging display.
The 18-year-old was arguably Wolves’ best player on the night and looked to be the most likely to make something positive happen, and the supporters – while understandably disappointed about the result – were quick to laud the attacking midfielder’s recent form.
