Super agent Jorge Mendes has played a massive part in helping Wolverhampton Wanderers achieve everything they have in the last few years.

Wolves deserve lots of credit for their performances on the pitch but their recruitment behind the scenes, with Mendes’ help, has truly been phenomenal.

Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, Pedro Neto, Diogo Jota, Rui Patricio and most recently Daniel Podence have all been brought to Wolves courtesy of Gestifute, and another client of Mendes could head their way very soon.

Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that Wolves have entered talks with Napoli for Faouzi Ghoulam. The Algerian, once one of Serie A’s most impressive full-backs, has struggled due to injuries in recent years.

Ghoulam, now 29, is no longer needed at Napoli and the Partenopei are allegedly trying to push him out the door. Wolves are in need of a new left-back after it was revealed that Jonny Otto will be side-lined after knee surgery.

Mendes’ influence is likely to be the driving force behind the deal. A prolonged spell on the sidelines between November 2017 and October 2018 all but ruined his chances of becoming one of the best left-sided full-backs in Serie A.

A move to Molineux could provide a fresh start for Ghoulam next season.

Some Wolves fans took to social media to express their views about a potential deal and, barring a few concerns about his injury, a move seems to be welcomed by the supporters:
