Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Diogo Jota is reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar ahead of the summer.

Several Wolves fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the reports coming out of the Daily Express at the weekend which suggested that Tottenham are interested in Diogo Jota.

Jota has been an outstanding signing for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. He scored 17 goals during their Championship title-winning campaign last season, and has scored six times in the Premier League following a £12.6 million permanent move (fee reported by the Express).

His form does not appear to have gone unnoticed however, with the Express suggesting that Mauricio Pochettino believes that Jota would be the perfect understudy for Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Providing cover for Kane has proved to be a real conundrum for Pochettino. Fernando Llorente has been more impressive this term, but he has still only managed to score one Premier League goal.

Unsurprisingly, many of the Wolves fans on social media are adamant that Jota will be going nowhere despite Spurs reportedly wanting to prise him away at the end of the season.

Some cannot believe that Tottenham – who have not signed a player during the last two transfer windows – will meet Wolves’ asking price for Jota, while others have questioned why he would want to leave Molineux for Spurs.
