Wolverhampton Wanderers picked up a superb win on Sunday night, beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side drew 1-1 with Southampton last time out, and went on the attack against Arsenal as Raul Jimenez, Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence and Adama Traore all started.

It was Neto who put Wolves in front, pouncing onto a loose ball inside the Arsenal box to fire home, only fro Gabriel to head Arsenal level shortly after.

Wolves did grab all three points though, as Bernd Leno couldn’t hold onto Neto’s drive, with Podence following on to score.

Wolves saw the game out in the second half to inflict a third straight home league defeat on the Gunners – and Neto was in fine form once again.

The Portuguese winger has been charged with the task of stepping up following the sale of Diogo Jota to Liverpool, and he has seized his opportunity with both hands.

Neto now has hit three goals and two assists in 10 Premier League games this season, notching 18 key passes too; only eight Premier League players have managed more.

The 20-year-old is now earning huge praise from Wolves fans, with many claiming that he is already better than Liverpool ace Jota, who finds himself in red-hot form at Anfield.

Some at least think that he will prove to be better with Jota in the coming years, claiming it’s ‘not even a debate’ whether Wolves made the right choice – even with Jota starring on Merseyside.
