Wolves are reportedly rivalling Newcastle and Arsenal in the race to sign Martins.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly set to rival Newcastle United and Arsenal for Atletico Madrid attacker Gelson Martins – and Wolves fans are excited over a move.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have claimed that 23-year-old Martins will be allowed to leave Atletico Madrid on loan until the end of the season, for a figure believed to be in the region of £4million.
AS Monaco, AC Milan and Besiktas are also interested in the 21-time Portugal international, who has featured just 12 times in all competitions since joining Diego Simeone’s side from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.
Newcastle are said to have opened talks with Atletico over a move for the versatile attacker, as they look to bring in some new players to save them from the threat of relegation.
But Wolves are said to be keen and a move would make sense. Martins’ agent Jorge Mendes has strong connections with Wolves, and the Midlands club boasts plenty of Portuguese talent.

The likes of Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho, Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro and more are from Portugal as is manager Nuno Espirito Santo and some of his coaching staff.
Wolves fans reacted to the news that the club could be interested in signing Martins, with the majority excited at the prospect of Martins pulling on a Wolves shirt.
