A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Benny Ashley-Seal’s hat-trick heroics in Tuesday night’s 4-2 triumph over Carlisle United in the EFL Trophy.
The 20-year-old striker weighed in with two smart finishes either side of a clinically dispatched penalty, while Tsun Dai netted his first goal in Wolves colours as Rob Edwards’ charges claimed victory at Brunton Park.
Ashley-Seal was yet to break his duck in 2019-20 but 20 minutes into the game he fired past Carlisle keeper Louis Gray for the opener, though the hosts soon levelled, and the first half ended 2-2 as Dai and Ryan Loft also got on the scoresheet.
Wolves took control in the second period as Ashley-Seal converted his penalty shortly after the restart and then went on to seal his hat-trick, making the most of good work from Elliot Watt and Oskar Buur.
