Wolverhampton Wanderers have been superb this season.

Ex-Wolves favourite Jody Craddock spoke exclusively to the Express & Star about his former side’s successful Championship campaign thus far, and shared how it would amaze him if they failed to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

The Black Country outfit are currently sitting comfortably at the top of the table, six points clear of second placed Cardiff City, although they have played a game more then Neil Warnock’s men.

Perhaps more importantly, though, they hold a 13 point advantage over third placed Fulham, and if they win their next four games, they will be promoted back to the Premier League, regardless of what Fulham and Aston Villa do.

Craddock, who made 237 appearances for Wolves, told the Express & Star how he would be amazed to see his former club miss out on promotion back to the top flight this season:

“It’s been absolutely fantastic watching the team this season. It’s not done yet but I’d be amazed if they aren’t in the Premier League next season. Without doubt it’s the best league in the world to be in and I think Wolves will do very well in it. The Championship is very physical but the top flight is all about pace and how quickly you move the ball. With the players Wolves have, they will adapt quickly so they’ll be confident about their chances.”

Nuno’s men will be itching to get back to action in the Championship, and they face two crucial games against Middlesbrough and Hull City respectively when the international break is finished.

Nothing less than a return of six points will do for Wolves, with Cardiff putting the pressure on, and it would set them up perfectly for their clash with Neil Warnock’s side on April 6th.
