Wolves have had an appeal to reschedule their Carabao Cup game rejected, the club have confirmed.
What’s the story?
The Midlanders will face Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday in the Premier League, just 48 hours before their League Cup tie against Nottingham Forest.
However, the club attempted to get the game rescheduled a day later to give their players a longer rest time.
The appeal was rejected by the EFL, due to Nottinghamshire Outlaws and Hampshire Hawks’ T20 match at Trent Bridge, which is a stone’s throw away from the City Ground.
As a result, Bruno Lage will be looking to make wholesale changes to his side next Tuesday.
The new manager still wants four more players, however, the old gold must sell first.

48 hour gap could help Wolves prepare for Christmas schedule
Playing in the Carabao Cup game just 48 hours later could help Wolves prepare for the upcoming Christmas schedule.
The festive period is one of a kind.
Whilst countries across Europe employ winter breaks to help recovery process, England do no such thing. Games come thick and fast towards the end of the year, normally with three games in six or seven days.
As a result, the club could use the upcoming games as preparation.
The Carabao Cup represents a great opportunity for Lage’s men to put together a cup run. Taking on the challenge head on is the better option next week.
Meanwhile, Wolves are close to securing a £9m deal.
