The winger has not played for Wolves since April due to a serious knee injury.

The head of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ medical staff Paul Hayward has suggested that Michal Zyro is on course to make a return from injury in April, the Express and Star reports.

The 24-year-old has not played for the Championship side since April last season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in his knee during a clash with MK Dons, the Express and Star reports.

And while Hayward confirmed that the Poland international is still a long way off making it back into Paul Lambert’s team, he suggested that he has been pleased with the winger’s progress before outlining when he could be back in contention for selection.

“He’s doing well,” Hayward said, as reported by the Express and Star. “He’s had an appointment in the past couple of weeks with the consultant who’s really happy with his progress.

“We’re probably looking towards the end of the season, maybe April time, which will be the one-year mark.

“He’s on track. He’s doing quite nicely and we’re working away ticking off the boxes as we go along, rather than trying to look too far ahead.”

Molineux - general view

Zyro’s time on the sidelines has undoubtedly hurt the club’s fortunes. The former Legia Warsaw man made a very bright start to life at Molineux, scoring three times in his first two league games.

And Lambert will be hoping that his recovery continues without a problem and that he can replicate that kind of form once he does return as it will undoubtedly help Wolves finish the campaign in style.
