The youngster made his Wolves senior debut in the FA Cup fourth-round replay win over Shrewsbury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Niall Ennis has spoken out about making his senior debut for the club and also talked about the build-up to finding out he was named in the squad for Tuesday night’s FA Cup fourth round replay win over Shrewsbury Town.
The 19-year-old has long been touted for a bright future but he has suffered some big injuries over the past few years which have delayed his upward trajectory, until finally, earlier this week, Nuno Espirito Santo named him in the matchday squad and went on to utilise him against the Shrews at Molineux.
Ennis, who has been at the club for the last 12 years, replaced Ivan Cavaleiro with just two minutes of regular time remaining in what finished as a 3-2 home win, and almost set up strike partner Raul Jimenez for a chance at goal with his first touch.
Following the game, the teenager spoke to the official Wolves site about how it felt to make his senior bow, describing it as “long overdue” due to the setbacks he had experienced over the years which stunted his progress, before talking about how he found out he was in the squad.

“I trained first-team Sunday, a few players go down usually, and then came in on Monday as usual for training with the under-23s, but I was told I was with the first team,” said Ennis.
“After the first-team session, Cam John ran in the room saying I was in the squad. I was over the moon. It’s always better when you don’t exactly expect it.”
In 2016, Ennis fractured his fibula twice just as then manager Kenny Jackett was ready to hand the then 16-year-old his debut, while two games into his subsequent loan stint at Shrewsbury, he suffered a serious knee injury, according to the Birmingham Mail.
