Wolverhampton Wanderers coach Rob Edwards has hailed Walter Zenga ahead of their clash with Aston Villa.

Walter Zenga has certainly divided opinions following his mixed start to life in charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers, but you cannot deny his passion. The Italian has guided Wolves to mid-table after 11 games and will be looking to push the club on towards the play-offs following the international break. As reported by Express & Star, first team coach Rob Edwards has spoken about Zenga ahead of the game against his former side Aston Villa.
Edwards came through the youth system at Villa and would love nothing more than to get one over on his old side as Wolves look to build some momentum.
“The training has been really interesting as it has been different and I have been able to pick up different things,” said Edwards. “Walter has some really good ideas – a lot of thought and detail goes into every training session.

“He looks at the opposition and their threats, and what we can do in a game, and then plans the sessions around that to build a game-plan leading up to the weekend.
“I think that is a good way of doing it and there is a real thought process behind every decision.

“Team selection, those training sessions, the analysis with the meetings before the games – they are all linked and the players know exactly what they are being asked to do.”
The managerial situation at Villa Park could prove to be either a curse or a blessing for Zenga’s men depending on who they wind up hiring. With Steve Bruce listed as one of the favourites, fans will be hoping that the game takes place before the new manager comes in as history suggests it will have a positive effect on the Villains.
