Rangers have been linked with Wolves defender Dominic Iorfa for a bargain fee.

Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa in the January transfer window for a knockdown price – but surely Wolves cannot sanction such a deal.
The Sun claim the 23-year-old could join Rangers for a knockdown fee of just £500,000, just a couple of years after Wolves were only willing to sell their academy product for a huge £15million (AfricanFootball).
Iorfa has plummeted down the pecking order at Wolves since Nuno Espirito Santo’s arrival, and was loaned to Ipswich Town last season for game time in a bid to further his development.
This season, he has remained at Molineux but is rotting in the reserves. Breaking into the side as a teenager, Iorfa was supposed to be the next big thing – clocking up 93 appearances for the club’s first team.
However, this time around he is yet to play for the first team and that has tempted Steven Gerrard to land the defender with a deal said to stand at just £500,000 – a fee way beneath the player’s talent.
Iorfa’s contract at Wolves is set to expire at the end of the season, explaining why he could be signed for such a small figure in the January transfer window.

But Wolves would be much better advised to offer him an extension and look to blood him in the cup games and as a reserve, with his potential undoubted.
If not, at least give him a new deal and charge more money for him in the summer. £500,000 for a player of his standard is simply far too cheap, though it would be an excellent deal for Gerrard’s Rangers.
