Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Elland Road to take on Leeds United in the Championship tonight.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo addressed the media yesterday, ahead of his side’s clash with Leeds at Elland Road tonight, and explained why the Whites will pose a particularly difficult challenge, as quoted by the Express & Star.
The Black Country outfit currently sit at the top of the Championship table, but their lead has now been cut to just three points after Cardiff’s win last night, and perhaps more worryingly, their lead over third placed Aston Villa is now just seven points.
Nuno will be desperate for his side to get back on track with a win against Leeds tonight, but Paul Heckingbottom’s men are equally in need of all three points, having won just one league game since Boxing Day.
The Wolves boss spoke to reporters yesterday, and shared why he is expecting a tough challenge in west Yorkshire tonight, as quoted by the Express & Star:
“It will be a tough game, they’re a good club and a good team. They have a new manager – a good manager – Paul is doing his job. What he did at Barnsley was very good, he’s trying now at Leeds. We’re going to face a team that has good players (but) is not in a good moment. Like Paul said they’re expecting the game against us to be a turning point.”
Wolves will increase their lead at the top of the table back to six points with a win tonight, whilst Leeds can climb back inside the top half of the table with all three points.
The away side are still heavy favourites to win the game, despite their recent blip, but Leeds away is always a tough fixture for any team, and Nuno’s men will have to be at their very best, if they are to return to Molineux with maximum points.
