The Wolves manager was fined for his pitch foray against Leicester but he said it’s difficult not to get overcome with emotion during such moments.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo says he cannot rule out the possibility of invading the pitch once again if another “moment of thrill” happens in a game.

The Wolves boss was fined £8,000 by the Football Association after admitting a charge of improper conduct when he ran on to the pitch to celebrate his side’s late winner against Leicester City earlier in January.

Nuno was sent off by referee Chris Kavanagh, who incidentally did not send Jurgen Klopp off after the latter invaded the pitch to celebrate Liverpool’s late winner against Everton in November, although both coaches were fined the same amount for their actions.

The Portuguese has admitted that he was in the wrong to take to the pitch and accepted the official’s decision to send him off, as well as the subsequent fine, but speaking about his charge, he spoke about the emotions involved during such moments and how it’s difficult to keep a lid when these things happen.

“Everybody knows it is hard to contain those emotions in such a special moment,” Nuno is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying. “Last minute of the game, last goal, it gave us such an important victory. I tried to be as far away as possible to avoid the situation.

“I maintain my opinion the referee made the right decision but at the same time I think everybody understood why I went onto the pitch. It’s very difficult to say I won’t do it again. I think that goes for everybody, managers and players. It is such a moment of thrill that sometimes you cannot sustain yourself – it’s difficult.”

Up next for Wolves is their reward for overcoming Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup when they travel to the New Meadow on Saturday to face League One side Shrewsbury Town in round four.
