Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore hasn’t quite recaptured last season’s magic – and could be on the move in 2021.

The Spain international was a menace last season, going past defenders for run with his combination of pace, power and outstanding dribbling ability.

Traore racked up six goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season, leading to speculation linking him with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Traore hasn’t quite hit those heights this season though, and is yet to register a goal or an assist in any competition.

In fact, he only has eight Premier League starts this season, coming off the bench seven times in what has been a frustrating season.

Last week, 90Min reported that Leeds United now want to sign Traore, believing that his price tag has dropped since the summer.

Victor Orta signed Traore for Middlesbrough back in 2016, so a reunion could make some sense – if Leeds can find the cash for such a deal.

Now, Wolves boss Nuno has told The Mirror that Traore hasn’t been ‘totally confident’ in training, due to suffering knocks and being ‘affected by problems’.

Nuno added that he is trying to get Traore back to his best, but it is ‘not that easy’, amid question marks over his future at Molineux.

“My admiration for Adama is obvious. As a player, he is unique,” said Nuno. “He is fantastic and talented but unfortunately, he’s been affected by problems, both in matches and during training. Since he returned from his national team, he has not been totally confident in training. He’s had a knock on his foot. But he has shown a commitment to overcome the pain he feels and I’m immensely proud of him.”

“So it’s not about him playing in the starting XI or that he is coming off the bench – he’s shown what he is capable of. And he’s getting better – but every time he plays, he’s clearly a target. It happened against Chelsea. In his first involvement in the game, he took a big knock. That totally unbalanced him. He was getting better then, suddenly, in one second, he goes. Unfortunately, this is football. We are trying to bring back the best in Adama but it is not that easy,” he added.
