If Wolves beat Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid to the signing of Juan Quintero will they prove their Premier League top 10 ambitions?

Quintero is currently midway through a loan spell at River Plate, with Argentine publication Ole reporting that they have an option to make that move permanent and will do that before immediately inserting a £19.5m release clause into his contract to make a profit straight away.

Yet what has really caught the eye is the 25-year-old’s performances at the 2018 World Cup with Colombia, where the attacking midfielder has scored once and provided two assists to date.
This has caught the eye of Madrid and Spurs, but Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has links with Quintero from his own time at Porto and super agent Jorge Mendes is already said to be working behind the scenes to broker the deal.
How big a coup would it be?
The fact that it is even a realistic prospect that the newly promoted Premier League team can compete with regular Champions League qualifiers Tottenham for a player shows just how good next season could be for them.

Generally the main aim of sides coming up from the Championship is to avoid relegation and while publicly the West Midlands outfit may say that is theirs too, in reality they could finish in the top 10 in 2018/19 and transfers like this shows why.
They already had impressive names such as Willy Boly, Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota on their books and have since added Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez to their ranks.
Signing Quintero would only make them an even more formidable prospect in the top flight of English football next term.
