Wolves have a good chance of landing Filip Krovinovic even if reports in Portugal are correct and he lands up at Benfica.

A report over the weekend in A Bola claimed Wolves have offered £2.6 million for the midfielder.

Yet a subsequent report in the same newspaper states Krovinovic is set to sign for Benfica, and is ready to pen a five year deal.

Wolves should not five up on landing the 21-year-old Croatian though, especially considering the links between their club and Benfica.

Both clubs are linked by super agent Jorge Mendes and Wolves’ owners Fosun International.

This past season Wolves signed players on loan from Benfica including Ola John, Joao Teixeira, and most impressively – Helder Costa, who has since signed permanently.

Even if Krovinovic clinches his move from Rio Ave to Benfica, Wolves have every chance of convincing the Portuguese side to let them sign the midfield ace on a season long loan.

One season of Krovinovic is better than missing out entirely, and manager Nuno Santo should call on his superiors to try and secure his services even if they miss out on getting him permanently.
