The international break is upon us and managers across the Championship have plenty to ponder after a frenetic start to the campaign.

Among the teams which need to find more consistency are Wolves and Nottingham Forest, who have each shown flashes of promise, but have won a combined seven games out of 22.

Neither side are likely to get drawn into the relegation struggle, but a play-off run may also be out of reach until they can show signs of improvement.

Key to doing this will be winning their midfield battles, where they will expect to improve on their current record.

Wolves rank bottom of the Championship when it comes to winning tackles, successful in only 63 per cent of those attempted.

Nottingham Forest are narrowly above, with a 67 per cent success rate.

Burton Albion rank highest in the Championship, but suffer in other areas, ranking two points behind Wolves in the table.

Birmingham City follow, and currently occupy a play-off spot, with Brentford one place behind them in seventh place.

Wolves invested in defensive minded midfielders Romain Saiss and Prince Oniangue in the summer, and will hope once they get settled in, they become more successful at winning their battles.

After the international break they have two tricky away games against Aston Villa and then Brighton and Hove Albion, and will need to become more clinical if they are to record victories in these matches.
