Wolves ace Ryan Bennett shares how players took matters into their own hands behind the scenes

Wolverhampton Wanderers have emerged form their first real mini slump of the season unscathed.

Ryan Bennett sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and shared how the Wolves players have held meetings amongst themselves periodically throughout the season, whenever they have been under the cosh.

The Black Country outfit currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, six points clear of second placed Cardiff City, but perhaps more importantly, 13 ahead of third placed Fulham and fourth placed Aston Villa.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side need just 12 points between now and the end of the season to guarantee promotion back to the Premier League, and it would take a brave man to bet against them doing just that.

Things haven’t always gone to plan for Wolves this season, though.

Bennett, 28, told the club’s official website how the players have taken matters into their own hands at certain points throughout the current campaign:

“We’ve had meetings collectively, individually in the changing room as players, Danny’s (Batth) held meetings. We’ve done it all at times throughout the season when we needed it, and that has been important.”

Wolves return to action on Friday with a trip to the Riverside to take on Middlesbrough, before they play host to Hull City four days later, and two wins from those matches would make promotion to the Premier League a mere formality.
