The Wolverhampton Wanderers boss has been a resounding success during his short time in England so far.
Wolves ace Matt Doherty raved about the quality of Nuno Espirito Santo, when speaking exclusively to the Express & Star, although he did admit that the players were unsure of the Portuguese’s pedigree when he took over at Molineux in the summer.
The Black Country outfit have been quite simply superb this season, and need just one more point from their final game away at Sunderland at the weekend in order to eclipse the 100 point mark.
Nuno deserves great credit for the job that he has done at Wolves, not just for his superb player recruitment, but also for the way in which he has managed to extract the best out of the players who were already at the club.
Doherty, 26, has played a key role for Nuno’s side this season, and he offered high words of praise for his manager, when speaking exclusively to the Express & Star:
“The manager’s been the difference. When he first came we didn’t know because he’d never managed in England before but he’s proved you can come in as a foreign manager and succeed straight away. The formation, his tactics, man management…everything about him is world class.”
Wolves fans are expecting their club to spend heavily during this summer’s transfer window, ahead of their return to the Premier League, and Nuno will be under real pressure to improve upon his already impressive record in the transfer market.
