Wolverhampton Wanderers were too good for Burnley yesterday.
Wolves ace Matt Doherty spoke exclusively to the club’s official website in the aftermath of his side’s well-earned three points against Burnley yesterday, and shared one thing that disappointed him about their performance.
The Black Country outfit have made a more than respectable start to their Premier League campaign, having taken eight points from their opening five league outings, and they currently sit comfortably in ninth spot in the table.
Doherty himself has enjoyed a fine campaign thus far, providing Wolves with great solidarity down the right hand flank, as well as offering his side an attacking outlet in the final third.
The 26-year-old spoke exclusively to the club’s official website after his side’s win over Burnley, but stopped short of lavishing praise on his teammates, instead choosing to highlight where they need to improve:
“It could have been more. We obviously need to do quite a lot of work on putting the ball in the net more, because that can cost you in this league.”
Next up for Wolves is a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United, and all 11 players selected will have to be at their very best, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of returning to the Black Country with anything to show for their efforts.
