The Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder has been in superb form this season.
Wolves ace Conor Coady sat down for an exclusive interview with BBC Radio Merseyside last night, and raved about the quality of Ruben Neves, whilst sharing what he heard a lot of people saying about the Portuguese ace when he joined the club in the summer.
Neves, 21, has been quite simply sensational for Wolves so far this season, following his £15.8 million switch from Porto in the summer, and he has proven himself to be the Championship’s best player, by quite some way.
The Portugal international has played a major role for his side this season, and his calming presence in the middle of the park has proven to be a major factor behind their promotion back to the Premier League.
Coady, 25, offered high words of praise for Neves, when speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside last night, and shared how people doubted whether he would be able to adjust to the physicality of the Championship when he moved to Molineux:
“He’s important to us. As a player he’s very special, he’s a talented footballer but more importantly he’s a great lad. I heard a lot of people talking about him at the start of the season saying that obviously he’s come in from Porto and the Champions League, would he adapt to the Championship and the physicality of it? But he’s taken to it like a duck to water.”
Neves will surely have a huge role to play for Wolves in the Premier League next season, and keeping hold of him will arguably be the Black Country outfit’s most important piece of business this summer.
