Wolverhampton Wanderers-owned Prince Oniangue doubts Angers return.
On-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Prince Oniangue has hinted that he will be returning to Molineux this summer.
The 29-year-old joined Ligue 1 outfit Angers on a half-season loan in January, having failed to make a single appearance for Wolves in any competition during the first half of the campaign.
The Congo international, who has 35 caps for his country, has only managed 10 Championship appearances for Wanderers since joining from Reims in 2016.
But it looks like he is coming back to Premier League-bound Wolves this summer, after suggesting to Ouest-France that he will not be joining Angers on a permanent basis.
He said: “We’ll see, but I do not think I’ll stay in Angers.”
The Birmingham Mail reported that there is no deal in place for Oniangue to join the French side on a permanent basis.
It looks a long shot to envisage Oniangue – who will be released by Wolves this summer unless Nuno decides to give a contract extension – plying his trade in the West Midlands in time for their Premier League return.
In truth, newly-promoted Wanderers don’t need him and surely have their eyes on signing bigger, better players during the summer transfer window.
