According to the Gambling Times, Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on Xherdan Shaqiri of Stoke City, and the winger would be yet another hugely exciting addition at Molineux.

Stoke are set to sell Shaqiri this summer, following their relegation to the Championship, with a clutch a clubs after him.

Wolves are now said to be involved in the battle to sign the enigmatic Switzerland international.

And if Wolves could bring him to Molineux, then Nuno’s attack would look seriously threatening.

Wolves have already announced their intentions this summer with the arrival of Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez.

But if they managed to get Shaqiri too, then every other team in the Premier League would have to sit up and take notice of them.

Shaqiri is a genuine match-winner and while there are some concerns over his work-rate, his attacking quality would compensate for his lack of desire to track back.

Shaqiri was Stoke’s best performer last term, and has proven on numerous occasions that he can be a threat even at the highest level.

Wolves would be signing one of the most in-demand attackers in England if they managed to win the race for his signature, and the rumours that they have joined the race should set pulses racing at Molineux for what could happen over the rest of the transfer window.
