Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be competing with West Ham United for the signature of Jack Wilshere.

Jack Wilshere of Arsenal is chased by N'Golo Kante of Chelsea during the Carabao Cup Semi-Final Second Leg at Emirates Stadium on January 24, 2018 in London, England.

According to the Daily Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to attempt to sign Jack Wilshere – and if they are able to get a deal over the line, it could be terrible news for West Ham United’s owners.

West Ham’s board have taken a lot of criticism this season, and are expected to invest in the summer to reduce tensions.

It is believed that Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is one of their top targets, as reported by the Guardian, with the England international’s contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

However, West Ham are now competing with Wolves for the midfielder’s signature and if they are to lose out to the newly promoted side then it will reflect very badly on them.

West Ham fans may be able to accept missing out on Wilshere to an established Premier League side like Everton, who are also interested.

But if they are beaten to his signature by Wolves, then it will be more difficult for the London Stadium crowd to take.

Wolves may have big ambitions, but West Ham will surely feel that they should be able to attract players ahead of Nuno’s club.

And West Ham fans are now risking the wrath of their supporters, if Wolves do snap up Wilshere ahead of them.
