Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be keen to snap up Benik Afobe from Bournemouth.

According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers want to re-sign Benik Afobe this summer, and that could be the missing piece of their promotion jigsaw.

Wolves only allowed Afobe to move to Bournemouth 18 months ago, but they reportedly are optimistic about their chances of bringing the 24-year-old back to Molineux.

Afobe has struggled to find form at Bournemouth, but Wolves fans will need no reminding of his goalscoring prowess.

Afobe netted 23 goals in 48 appearances for Wolves, and his arrival back at the Midlands club could help to give Nuno all the ammunition needed to guide his side to promotion.

Wolves struggled to find a regular scorer last term, but Afobe would almost guarantee them goals.

Wolves are also believed to be closing in on signing Ruben Neves from Porto, according to the Daily Mail.

And with Helder Costa already at the club, the addition of both Neves and Afobe would give Wolves three of the best players in the Championship.

Nuno would, therefore, have a squad which would be the envy of most of their divisional rivals – and Afobe’s return to Wolves could be the difference maker in the race for promotion.
