Wolverhampton Wanderers will have to break their transfer record to land James Maddison from Norwich City, with The Sun claiming the midfielder is valued at £25 million.

Wolves have been long-term admirers of Maddison, and are reportedly planning to make a move at the end of the season.

And even at £25 million he would be a worthwhile signing for Wolves to make.

It seems almost certain that Nuno’s side will be playing Premier League football next season, and with Maddison in their ranks they will possess a forward line fitting of the top tier.

The Norwich midfielder may not have played in the Premier League yet, but his performances this term show that he is ready to make the step up.

Maddison has scored 13 goals and claimed seven assists this term, in a Norwich side which has been a disappointment.

And if Wolves could bring the 21-year-old to Molineux then it should be treated as a very exciting signing, despite his inflated price tag.
