Wolverhampton Wanderers should consider making an attempt to bring in Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion in the summer.

Evans has the potential to be one of the bargain buys of the summer, as he has a £3 million relegation release clause in his contract.

The Baggies look almost certain to go down now, and Wolves should look at snatching Evans from their local rivals.

Evans has, of course, been linked with some of the Premier League’s title contending teams – but Wolves have their own big ambitions.

Nuno side’s appear to have a vast amount of money to spend, and bringing in Evans would really prove that they mean business.

Evans may not have excelled this season, but he is clearly a more than capable defender at Premier League level, and he could be a wonderful addition to Wolves’ squad.

Evans has the ability in possession to cope with Wolves’ style of play, and his experience could be crucial to guiding some of his teammates through their first season at the top level.

Wolves would also be able to offer Evans regular first team football, which is not a promise that can be made to him by many of his other potential suitors.

And Wolves should seriously explore the possibility of taking Evans off West Brom, as he could be a brilliant bargain addition to their current squad.
