Wolverhampton Wanderers should be chasing the signature of Aston Villa defender James Chester.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Aston Villa have made James Chester available for a fee of £10 million.

Chester has been one of Villa’s best players over the past campaign, with his partnership with John Terry earning a great deal of plaudits.

Ideally, Villa would have kept Chester, but their financial situation makes that almost impossible.

The centre back is one of their most valuable assets, and Villa have reluctantly put him up for sale for £10 million, according to the latest report.

Already there is great interest in signing the Welsh international, and Wolverhampton Wanderers should seriously consider making a move.

Chester could help improve Wolves’ defence, as he would arguably be a better option than many of Nuno’s current choices.

Ryan Bennett and Conor Coady both had wonderful seasons for Wolves last term, but Chester would arguably be an upgrade on either.

The Villa man would add power and steel to Wolves’ defence next campaign, and should have no troubles adapting to the Premier League, as he has played at the highest level before.

And Wolves should seriously considering bringing in Chester from their Midlands rivals, as it could be a transfer which could really benefit them over the season ahead.
