Midland rivals Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers will be locking horns in the Premier League next season.

Wolves fans on Twitter have stated that they are looking forward to playing Aston Villa next season and taking six points off them after they earned promotion to the Premier League.
Dean Smith’s side beat Derby County 2-1 in the Championship play-off final on Monday at Wembley, with Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn scoring the crucial goals.
It means that Villa have ended their three-year absence from England’s top-flight and they have a number of tasty fixtures to look forward to next season, including their Midlands showdown with Wolves.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side finished in the top seven during the recently concluded campaign and a lot will be expected of them next term.
There is no doubt that they are on the up under their highly-rated coach, whilst Villa fans will also feel like they are on a high after their promotion.
Either way, it makes the two meetings between the two sides even tastier because each team will be looking to win the bragging rights.
Here is a selection of Wolves fans on Twitter reacting to Villa’s promotion:
It has been a remarkable rise from Villa under Smith considering where they were at the end of February and where their season was heading.
But a 10-game winning run, a penalty shootout victory against West Brom and then their play-off final win means Villa will be playing Premier League football again.
