Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on social networking site have called on the club to sign Benik Afobe from Bournemouth in the January transfer window.

The Wanderers have been the best team in the Championship so far this season and look set to win automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

However, the performances and results of Nuno’s side in recent weeks have not been great.

Wolves failed to score against Swansea City, Barnsley and Nottingham Forest this month. In fact, they lost 2-0 to Forest at the Molineux Stadium in the Championship at the weekend.

Afobe is struggling for playing time at Bournemouth and has yet to make a massive impact in the Premier League, but the striker knows the Championship inside out.

The 24-year-old was a success during his time at Wolves, scoring 23 goals in 48 matches before joining Bournemouth in January 2016 for a transfer fee of £10 million, as reported by BBC Sport.

According to The Birmingham Mail, Bournemouth want to sell Afobe, and Wolves and West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing him.

Wolves fans have urged the club to bring back the striker.
