Wolves were comprehensively beaten at the Etihad Stadium, after falling behind early on when Gabriel Jesus netted from close range.
Wolves then had Willy Boly sent off, and after that City could cruise the victory.
Jesus scored again from the penalty spot, before an own-goal from Conor Coady rounded off the scoring.
