Wolverhampton Wanderers lost 4-0 to Swansea City yesterday.
It’s fair to say that there were not too many positives to come out of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 4-0 defeat against Swansea City yesterday. However, the performance of Niall Ennis did provide some reason for optimism.
Ennis was selected to start up front for Wolves in what was Walter Zenga’s first match in charge at the Midlands club.
Ennis may only be 17, but he was not overawed by the occasion and looked Wolves’ brightest attacking threat for much of the contest.
The youngster’s performance has drawn praise from a number of Wolves fans, with many suggesting that he should be rewarded with a start when the competitive action starts up next weekend.
Other than Ennis’ showing, there was little to get excited about for Wolves fans during the friendly match.
A Wayne Routledge double, and strikes from Kyle Naughton and Oliver McBurnie provided Swansea with the win.
Wolves are due to start their season with a match against Rotherham United next weekend.
