Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Villarreal 2-1, with Nuno’s side giving Jonny a first chance to impress at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo, the Wolves manager looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Millwall and Wolverhampton at The Den on December 26, 2017 in London, England.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have praised new signing Jonny, after his performance against Villarreal in pre-season.

Wolves beat their Spanish opponents 2-1, with Wolves’ latest addition having his first chance to show the Molineux crowd what he could do.

The Atletico Madrid loanee looked sharp from the off, as his performance at wing-back caught the eye.

Wolves won the contest 2-1, and Jonny picked up a great deal of praise on social media website Twitter after the contest.

Nuno has already shown great faith in Jonny, by offloading Barry Douglas to make room for him.

Douglas had been one of the stars of Wolves’ season last term, but there has been no room for sentiment this summer.

Jonny looks set to start this season at left-wing back for Wolves, and the hope is that he will be an upgrade on Douglas over the long-term.

Wolves’ competitive campaign starts next weekend when they take on Marco Silva’s Everton side.
