Kenny Jackett’s side went into the break with a healthy advantage, thanks to an own goal from Michael Turner and a fine finish from George Saville.
Wednesday did pull a goal back in the last minute through Lewis McGugan, but it was not enough.
Wolves’ victory was their first for six matches, and it brought to a close what has been a disappointing season.
The Midlands side have never threatened the promotion spots, but they will be expected to improve next time around.
Wallace is likely to play a much more prominent role next term, and Wolves fans are optimistic for his future at Molineux.
