According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering making a move for Alfie Mawson and his potential partnership with Willy Boly could be rock solid.

Boly has been brilliant at Wolves over the past season, and his transfer was made permanent earlier this summer.

Nuno’s side are still keen to bring in more defensive recruits though, and Mawson of Swansea City is said to be their latest target.

Mawson was a mainstay in Swansea’s side last term and although he was unable to save them from the drop his performances impressed.

The centre-back could be a great addition to Wolves’ squad for next term, and his partnership with Boly would be a solid platform for Wolves.

Of course, Wolves are likely to play with three centre-backs, but Nuno could rest assured that Boly and Mawson would give him a good foundation to build his defence around.

And if Wolves can bring Mawson to Molineux this summer, it should be treated as a highly exciting signing for the Midlands club.
